I have nearly 20 years of experience working with children and families in various settings: teaching horseback riding lessons and children's ski school in the mountains of Montana, working as a school counselor in public schools grades K-12, a child & family therapist for a local nonprofit mental health agency in Portland, and finally, as a private practice mental health therapist.
I hold a master's degree in education from Montana State University with an emphasis in counseling and an undergraduate degree in philosophy and religious studies. I am a licensed school counselor (LSC) in Oregon and Montana, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Washington State, and licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Oregon. I am also a Certified Babywearing Educator (CBE) and the co-founder and past member of the Board for Babywearing International of Portland where I worked with many dedicated and talented volunteers to make babywearing accessible to all caregivers in the community through free educational resources.
I'm a trained postpartum doula, a mother, daughter, wife, and sister. My love for helping children, adolescents, individuals, and families flourish drives my work in providing holistic mental health and wellness support services. My specific areas of focus include attachment theory, the perinatal and postpartum period, promoting health and wellness through returning the body to homeostasis, and I am currently pursuing certification as a Clinically Certified Trauma Professional.
Originally from a cattle ranch in the middle of nowhere, I have made Portland, Oregon my home for a decade. As of May 2019 my husband and I will be returning to Montana with our young children, two dogs, kitty, and four chickens. I enjoy hiking, skiing, gardening, horseback riding, bluegrass music, and being outside soaking up the sunshine when it decides to grace us with its presence. I am looking forward to getting back to my Montana roots and opening up a private practice location in Ennis, MT!
